This file was created in 2012 for public disclosure and consists of selected papers from the Coroner's Deceased Evidence File of each of the deceased (CC5/4/1) including the Inquisitional Report. Many of the files include correspondence between Chief Constable Peter Wright South Police and Dr Popper, H.M. Coroner relating to the release of the bodies of the deceased to next of kin. The files also include correspondence filed by HM Coroner post 1989 for administrative purposes and were therefore not part of the original Deceased Evidence Files created in 1989 by West Midlands Police.
At pages 48 and 49 a letter appears from the father of the victim Peter Tootle. This letter has been wrongly filed. ... more
