Disclosed items that have a specific date are returned first in descending order (most recent first). So a document dated 26 March 1994 will be higher in the list than a document dated 30 January 1994.
Items that span a range of dates (ie that have an end date) are returned after those that have a specific date (no end date). Items that span a range of dates are returned in ascending order of end date.
